![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was caused: (1) lack of understanding of the homeroom guidance and counseling, (2) lack of functional communication between counselor and homeroom teachers, (3) lack of guidance and counseling’s public services, 4) there were no effort of insentive constructing carried out the headmaster in improving the competence of the counseling teacher, (5) no time classes given to counselor, and (6) there was reference of the regulation books in the school as a standard reference on dealing with troubled students. The results of this study showed that homeroom teacher’s role in the maintenance of guidance and counseling were still weakness. The approach used was a descriptive case study, with key informants in the study is the homeroom teacher of SMAN 1 Pariangan Tanah Datar.
